Well, we were just randomly looking for somewhere to have a drink and all of a sudden, we spied this place. Our beer sense is strong!
It's up on the 3rd floor. A proper bar with only one room, a dart board and shelves and shelves of records and CDs behind the bar. I asked for beer and there was either Hoegarden on draught or Cass on draught in a pitcher. We were only wanting the one, so asked for a bottle of Cass instead. Not incredibly impressed with the choice of booze, but the price was fine, 4,000 won a bottle.
There was also an ominous looking jaeger machine on the bar, which it not being the weekend, we didn't utilise. I'm sure in future, we will.
Atmosphere and decor was cool. Dark lighting, proper smokey and loud. Think it was due to the high foriegner content. Depending on the place you like to go, this is either a good or a bad thing. And the banter/ general ambience was good.
The staff were great and gave us a warm welcome. I asked at the bar for a drink and the lovely lady serving asked me to sit down, brought it over and we paid at the table. I like that alot from a bar, so definite bonus points there.
Decor-wise, there were some beer posters and music posters up. It's quite a basic place, the light up posted of Morrisey made me smile quite a bit though.
I liked the feeling of it being quite small and cosy. This was a Wednesday night and it was half full. I'm sure on the weekend it can get a bit crammed.
On the music front, I was especially happy to hear Vampire Weekend, my other notes were 'American tunes' which I'm not really sure what I meant! But I didn't recongise anything else. I'm sure they take requests with all those CDs in the background, though. The music was pretty loud, but not enough to stop you talking, and this added to the buzzy atmosphere for sure.
All in all, definitely a place I'd go again in Gangnam. Go go beer-y sense!!
