I had a very pleasant evening in this traditional Victorian style pub in Harringay. It is huge and has all the original features, which is always good by me, plus busts, cabinets full of taxidermy etc. Was pretty well maintained. Really good booze selection. About 5 guest ales, and impressive drafts. I had Aspall's cider to start and much to my delight they had Palm on draft, which is one of my favourite beers and reminds me of Amsterdam. Staff were nice, but nothing out of the ordinary. Plenty of people came in and out over the course. Lots of after works and quick one drinkers. People were polite at the bar. Music-wise my overwhelming memory is of lot of Blondie, but it could've been worse.
The major downside was the food. I had fish and chips; the fish was soggy and tasteless with too crisp and slightly burnt batter and the chips were obviously frozen before they were fried. Not good! So yeah, drink in there by all means, but I would steer clear of the food.
