We were in Liverpool for the night after a fun day at the seaside in Crosby and Formby and were looking or somewhere to eat a little after nine. Not surprisingly lots of places that we tried were full but then we happened upon this fab place just off Hope Street that was pretty full but had a handy free table for four. Fantastic service; really friendly and efficient, full of recommendations and information. The food was plentiful, reasonably priced and tasty. We had a antipasto to share with some anchovies and almonds to start. Then for mains I had trout off the specials. One of the nicest fishes I have ever had. Big fat trout. Mmmmmmmm. Jay had pasta bendedict, Matt had a pizza and Alice had the pork off the specials. All was very good. No complaints, even from Matt, who has famously high standards. We didnt have puddings because we were full but we had four espressos and a lovely bottle of wine. Buzzy, busy Saturday night atmosphere, some people were just in to have a quick coffee, some ad clearly been there for a couple of hours. Unfussy bistro-style decor and it is also a pretty top-notch looking deli. Plus bill was £72. We left £80 as, as I said, the service was hard to fault. Top marks!!
