Beer- mad selections of ales. Lots of Ossett beers. Great value. Some pints are £2.50. So brilliant with value and selection
Music- Pure indie. Not loud. Kings of Leon, The Strokes, Motown classics, Suede, Libertines. Mainly acceptable, but ruined by bands like Razorlight.
Decor- A bit church. lots of pictures of bands on the wall. it seems they are linked by indie/Yorkshire connection, whether they are good or bad bands. You could say is a bit of a church to indie. Nice view of the cellar. Outside area has a great view of the canal, and you can see the dark arches on the other side of the pub. Always good to go to a place with a good view. There is an upstairs music area. Definitely cosy and nice where we were. Still not sure bout the pictures.......
Clientele- Not many people. All seem alright. Definitely an ale-appreciating and sound crowd. Could imagine it'd get laddy and indie-y on a weekend night.
Staff- not too friendly. Didn't say hi on entrance, but was nice when he served us food.....
Food- amazing value: pint, peas, pie, mash and gravy for £5. And you get a ridiculous amount that we didn't even half finish. it's good that there are so many pies to chose from and loved the presentation, in a stylish takeaway box (more appealing than it sounds). Only annoying part was the wooden disposable kinfe and fork. Not really a great way to eat your dinner. Service was quick.
