Beer- 4 on draught, all local. We had Salamander Pale Ale. An easy drinking and light ale.

Music- Quiet, in the background. pretty middle of the road stuff. Nothing to enjoy and nothing cool. Doesn't add well to the atmosphere, unfortunately. They did play Paul Weller though.

Clientele- well busy considering it is 2.45pm on a Thursday. Most inside tables are full. Mixture of people but mainly older people and couples. I suppose they are tourists. Low psycho content, good.

Staff- Service a bit rubbish both at the bar and at the table. None of the staff seemed particularly cheery. Maybe it's the quiet music that's annoying them.

Decor- very nice. has recently been refurbed. Lots of big high tables by the window which overlooks the river and Roberts' park and cricket ground. You can't get a much better view. Also the beer garden has been redone and lots of benchs by or overlooking the same view. Inside, all quite moderny gastropubby. Lovely shiny 60s inspired wallpaper. Kind of rubbish pictures on top of it which spoil it. Nice chairs and tables. A feature fireplace or two. Seems dark where we are sat at the back, which I suppose would read 'cosy' in winter.
