Not the most auspicious of starts, when walking up to the third floor bar, the smell of really awful bleach nearly turned my stomach. I was really looking forward to going to this place as I've heard a few people talk about it and it sounded nice.
One of the best points is that it has a great view out of a huge window down one side of the bar. The decor aside from that is definitely 'American bar style'. There's a pool table, tall seats at the bar and a number of big tables around the room. Theres a stage and a dance floor space. And around the back side of the room is a fitted sofa that runs the length of the room. Both my and Liam's seats were broken and I wonder what it looks like in the light, but with the lights down low, it was nice enough.
Another not quite right thing- a massive drunk dude came in and walked over to our table saying loads of loud incomprehensible things, even though he didn't know us. I found that pretty annoying as we were the only table in there, having a nice chat and this guy being the only other clientele obviously spoiled my opinion of the place. I suppose with the bars in Itaewon, this stuff is normal.
Beerwise, it had the usual mix of korean on draught, but I had a Red Rock for a change. In my opinion no better than the rest, but you can't get it everywhere, so at least it was a change.
As we were hanging out, some people started setting up the stage for a gig, would have been interesting to see what the music is like around here. I know this is pretty feeble but don't remember the music in general at all. I suppose that's a good thing.
On the whole, I was a little disappointed, the atmosphere wasn't really happening even though it was 9.30pm on a Saturday night when we left. Maybe it's more of a late night place? I'm not sure. I think another investiation would be in order, but only to see if it's any better than our first visit......
How to find it: Leave exit 3( I think) of Itaewon station and walk straight. Turn right at the kebab shop and go up the hill signposted for the mosque. Keep on the right hand side of the road and its a two minute walk up the hill, on the 3rd floor.
