Wow, a real sushi-ya. Mm-hm. This isn't the kind with a merry-go-round of delights, just a simple counter with about 10 high seats propping it up. The menu is extensive and written in korean with a baffling array of sets and individual things to order.
Luckily we were helped by the sushi guy who could speak english. We looked at the cut up raw fish on the other side of the counter in excitement as he made up our dishes. I went for Hoedeopbap set menu(it's a Korean sushi dish that I haven't tried yet), a bed of rice topped with various bits or raw fish and fish eggs, some vegetables and the usual hot sauce. You mix it together like bibimbap. But before that even came, we were given miso and a korean style salad to ease our hunger. It was all lovely. As it was a set, more stuff kept coming. I had 2 odeng sushi and a prawn one while liam tucked into his 6 salmon sushi. Last we had buckwheat noodles in broth. A great feed for 8,000 won each (about 4 quid).
The service was quick, but seen as though it was a tiny place and sushi doesn't really need cooking, that's not too much of a suprise! What I did like was the amount of fish in everything we had. They weren't stingy at all, which compared to England was a joy!
The decor is very Japanese feeling, with various boozes displayed and a black interior. It's a tiny place so there's not an awful lot to describe but it's definitely Japanese in mood and style.
The down point is that if you wanted to come with friends, you wouldn't really have space to sit down with everyone and have a chat, but if there's two or three of you, that's cool.
The music was the usual k pop, but I don't remember much of it, and it wasn't annoying. Definiteyl a place I'd like to go to again.

How to find Oishii: stand outside the main gates to the University, walk down the hill on the right hand side of the road. Oishii is about a 4 minute walk. If you are coming from the station, come out of exit 9, turn right and walk towards the first major road, turn left and keep walking straight up the road to the University. Oishii is on your left 9about 10 min walk).
