So it's Friday night, and we're in Hongdae, anything can happen.
Fortunately our mates know a good place and it's one of my favourites so far.
If you walk up one of the main drags of Hongdae, you'll see what looks like a fire escape somehow popping out of the first floor of a building and going up to another door. It's impossible to see how to get on to the actual fire escape unless you go round the other side of the building and get on it at ground level.
The reason why I'm saying this is because the entance to Bar Do is this dodgy looking fire escape.
The six of us climbed it, a bit worried that we might break it with our combined weight, but it was fine.
As we got a few storeys up, we could watch the madness of Friday night in partytown beneath our feet.
On entering the bar itself, it looked stripped down and basic, almost worn out. The tables and fittings we simple and thrify feeling, but oh so cool as well.
We bought the usual: Cass lager and got on with it. The cocktail menu is reasonably priced here as well though.
The music veered between jazz and K-Pop and a bit of dance, it was electic in a weird way but good too.
I really loved the feel of being perched up high, above the madness below in what felt like a little hut.
The service was fine, our waitress brought us boozes when we wanted so that was good and the buzzy atmosphere of cool students and young people relaxing on a Friday night made it feel good and cosy.
A really interesting bar, definitely a keeper!
